Ride -  Putney Park loop - from Putney Park to Ryde Bridge then around through Concord Hospital grounds and back across to Putney on the Mortlake Ferry, Sydney.
Distance -  A pathetic 12.3 km
Terrain - Mostly bike path but with a long dirt stretch in front of the horse paddocks near Concord Hospital
Difficulty - Easy - but very muddy in parts after rain
Highlights - Crossing the Parramatta River on the Mortlake punt.

Cycling the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail - Moore to Linville and Blackbutt

Location - Sth-east Queensland, Australia
Ride - Moore through Linville and then toward Blackbutt
Distance - 34.2 km
Terrain - Combined cycling, hiking, horse riding track
Difficulty - Mostly flat and fairly easy.
Highlights - The 'off the beaten track' charm of Linville

Ride - Lowood.
Distance - 25 km
Terrain - Quiet country back roads
Difficulty - Flat and easy.
Highlights - The wonderful winter weather

Thredbo NSW: Skiing not cycling

Ride - Skiing, not cycling
Where - Thredbo Village, Australia
Terrain - All downhill
Difficulty - Variable - not so easy when you fall and have to get up again.
Highlights - Having lunch in the sunshine, clocking up some easy 'on-snow' time.

Cycling in Sydney: Parramatta River Cycle Path

Location - Sydney, Australia
Ride - Ryde Bridge to Parramatta Park, Sydney
Distance - 27.9 km round trip
Terrain - Shared pedestrian path and cycleway with a couple of hundred metres on road.
Difficulty - Flat and easy.
Highlights - Having lunch in the sunshine sitting on the grass next to the Parramatta River.
