If you ever do fly to Juneau try to get to Glacier Bay as well. It is just stunning. We did a flightseeing trip over it and it was absolutely spectacular. I like the look of Juneau town with it's timber buildings with coloured trims. How lucky to come across the porcupine climbing a tree - I didn't know they even did that. There is also a much longer path which takes you up into the forest so you look across to the glacier.
